It seems that Stephanie Rice is following in her ex-beau Eamon Sullivan’s footsteps – as she enjoyed her single status with long booze sessions. The 20-year-old swimming sensation was seen enjoying long boozing sessions in Bungalow 8 and Loft bars at King Street Wharf. Yesterday only reports had surfaced that Sullivan had dived into Scubar and Kinselas and picked up a barmaid pal – all in one night. Now, in case of Rice, she enjoyed dinner and drinks with friends below deck at Bungalow until closing time at 11pm, then kicked on upstairs till the wee hours at Loft, according to reports. "The guys behind the bar thought she was gorgeous and is welcome back any time," the Daily Telegraph quoted a source, as saying. Meanwhile, Rice is all set to make her small screen debut with Seven''s Make Me A Supermodel this week. (ANI)

When Apple opened its iTunes App Store in July, the idea of a mass-market Web site that sells downloadable games, tools, and other applications for cell phones was a rarity. Handset owners could buy apps from their carriers or the occasional niche site. But these days, the app store concept is becoming commonplace.

Filed under: Handsets, LG, Verizon Wireless, EV-DO, CDMA If there's one thing you can count on in this crazy world of ours, it's that LG handsets that start with "VX" are destined to get stamped with a big-ass Verizon logo somewhere along the line. Latest in that trend should be the VX9600, having just passed through the FCC's danger-fraught passages on its way to a presumed release on Big Red down the line. It should be a pretty interesting device, too -- as most in the VX9000 series tend to be -- thanks to a 3.0-inch 480 x 240 display, a "game pad" of some sort, and a detachable QWERTY keyboard. Not a lot to go on there, granted, but this is FCC documentation we're talking about here. More on this one as we get it.Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Scientists from the Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC) have determined the 3D structure of a key protein component involved in enabling "epigenetic code" to be copied accurately from cell to cell. Epigenetic code is a series of chemical switches that is added onto our DNA in order to ensure that the cells in our body can form different types of tissue, for example liver and skin, despite having identical DNA genetic code.
