Kyiv—The Secretary of the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate, Vicar of the Kyivan Metropolitanate, Bishop Oleksandr (Drabynko) commented on the address of the Synod of UOC on the 75th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine. Regarding the definition of the Holodomor as a “genocide” in the text of the address, Bishop Oleksandr noted that “it was not meant that it was exactly genocide.” “We tried to avoid this word at all,” stated the secretary of the head of UOC.

Kyiv—Ukraine’s President expressed gratitude to the heads of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyivan Patriarchate, Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church and participants of the Conference of the Christian Churches of Ukraine, who expressed their unanimous position on the Holodomor in their Synods’ addresses and resolutions in the process of preparation for events of the 75th anniversary of the famine-genocide of 1932-1933 in Ukraine. So reported the Deputy Head of the presidential Secretariat, Yurii Bohutskyi.
