Lviv— Fr. Borys Gudziak Ph.D., the rector of the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU), was awarded the Knight of the Order of Academic Palms medal by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research at a press-conference held at UCU on 13 June 2008. The award was presented to him on behalf of the ministry by the French ambassador to Ukraine, Jean Paul Vesian, within the framework of the Lviv’s Ecumenical Social Week.

On June 10, 2008, in Lviv, the Most Rev. Ihor (Vozniak) Archbishop of Lviv, blessed the bookstore of the Misioner (“Missionary”) Publishing House of the Basilian Fathers. So Kostiantyn Chavaha reported for Radio Vatican. The bookstore is located on two floors of a building which is near the Basilian Monastery of Saint Onufrius. Speaking to the participants, Archbishop Ihor noted that spiritual literature should help us live correctly, in a Christian way, and sanctify our souls through reading spiritual literature and reflecting on the Word of God.
