General Motors Corp.'s sales in the Asia-Pacific region rose 2.7% last year, setting a new company record, the automaker announced Thursday. The company reported that it sold 1,475,093 cars and trucks last year in that region.

Metaldyne Corp., an Asahi Tec company, said Thursday it would further restructure its headquarters operations in Plymouth. The company said it would eliminate a separate leased facility, which housed its North American chassis products business unit, and consolidate that operation into another Metaldyne building in Plymouth. The move is expected to be completed by mid-2009.
