KYIV — On December 4, 2009, the feast of the Entrance of the Theotokos to the Temple, at the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary, its rector Archbishop Anthonii of Boryspil met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine Mr. Michael Borg-Hansen and the former bishop of Copenhagen of the Danish Lutheran Church Eric Norman Svendsen.

KYIV — The Academic Research Institute for Training Criminalists and Investigation Officers of the Kyiv National University of Internal Affairs marked its 24th anniversary with church solemnities on December 2, 2009. At the invitation of the institute administration, the celebrations were attended by Archbishop Augustine of Lviv and Halych, the Chair of the Synodal Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) for Relations with the Armed Forces and Other Military Agencies of Ukraine, Rev.Vitalii Prykhodko, the rector of the Church of Epiphany at the Kyiv National University of Internal Affairs, and Rev. Victor Yatsenko Chair of the Synodal Department for Pastoral Care of the Penitentiary System.

MOSCOW — According to a report of Interfax of December 7, 2009, the Russian Orthodox Church is not against a meeting between its head, Patriarch Kirill, and Pope Benedict XVI but expects the Vatican to "take "concrete steps to show that there is a desire to be cooperative," the Russian Church's foreign relations chief said on a television program on Saturday.
