On Saturday July 12, the XX International Congress of Genetics (ICG) started in the Berlin ICC. This is the largest meeting of geneticists worldwide and dedicates itself from July 12 to 17, 2008, to the entire scientific field of human and veterinary genetics, as well as botanical genetics but also the evolution and history of the field. Since 1899 the congress is held once every five years under the auspices of the International Genetics Federation (IGF).
