Filed under: Handsets, Samsung, ATT, Windows Mobile, GSM, EDGE, HSDPA, UMTS LG and Samsung just love throwing down the touchscreen gauntlet on American carriers lately -- one only need look at the Dare, Instinct, Vu, Voyager, and Glyde to figure that much out. Thing is, none of those devices really fall into the smartphone bucket, much less the coveted "superphone" one. That might just be where the recently-announced Samsung Omnia comes into play, though, which is now rumored to be destined for AT&T with a gaggle of features in tow: Windows Mobile 6.1, 5 megapixel camera, HSDPA, at least 8GB of internal storage, and support for AT&T Mobile TV. If it turns out to be true, that's got to steam LG, who's presently sitting atop the AT&T Mobile TV food chain with the Vu -- but hey, if that means they're going to set to work with another range-topper above this one, we're all for it.Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Why do we need the Dream, when other HTC handsets, like Touch Diamond and Touch Pro are perfectly compatible with Google Android OS? The latest model to get the Android port is the HTC Touch Cruise, also known as the Polaris. Of course, the system is not so stable and functional as Windows Mobile and still needs to be worked on, but it's a start, and a good sign for those who own a handset capab... [These are short news! FCC site features a new Motorola cell phone, which doesn't look anything like the previous models, and is apparently destined for some non-US market with some kind of 3G coverage, as documentation and a front-facing cam justify the aforementioned. We suppose it will be a low-end GSM/EDGE/WCDMA capable handset designed to bring WCDMA to the masses. The only thing that bothers us is the design, whi... [These are short news! Click for details]

Filed under: MultimediaThe latest label following BMG to join Nokia's Comes With Music service bandwagon is none other than Warner Music Group. The third-largest label joins the powerful cadre of labels on the service, which as of this posting lacks only EMI for a full major label lineup. As a reminder, the service allows you to download music for 12 months and then keep it as long as you own the device or transfer to a PC. Now, of course, we just need to wait for the devices to roll out. [Via Yahoo News]Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments
